Students and teachers are facing a degree of uncertainty with respect to their futures during the Covid-19 lockdown.

Amidst the Corona virus outbreak that has led to a lock-down, our college “TAWI TECHNICAL CAMPUS” has shifted to Online Education to continue teaching during the quarantine.

Have a look at what “COMPUTER SCIENCE DEPARTMENT” of TAWI TECHNICAL CAMPUS has done in Online Teaching sessions.
As per time table we are conducting online classes for all the students since 23rd March 2020.

Online teaching sessions:

  • Faculty shares subject wise weekly tasks like assignments, videos & other reference materials to students through Google classroom, YouTube, Whatsapp . We conduct live classes through meet.google.com where students can join during the schedule given earlier. Through this, we shares documents, present all materials and communicate through chat box during the meet.
  • Video links are posted by his teachers, all related to the topics being taught.

  • Apart from this, we record the sessions which give the students opportunity to review the sessions later.
  • To reinforce a routine, the teacher has created a calendar event using Google calendar in which we fix classes for a week. Every week’s sessions is notified to students through email and Whatsapp.

Tricks and tools to assess Students:

  • To assess students’ understanding and progress, the teacher’s conducts Oral Q&A session during the Online Classes, which are helpful to get some clarity on their prior knowledge and to what extent the students have completed the work.

  • After every topic, an Online Test is conducted where the Question Paper is released at a definitive time after setting the duration.
  • A lot of preparatory work is done by the teachers before they give a study plan or conduct online sessions.

  • Online teaching has allowed students to be much more responsible and take ownership of their learning and once both teachers and students become comfortable with the online sessions, any challenges during a crisis can be addressed in the future.
  • The students and teachers are facing a degree of uncertainty with respect to their futures, but teachers are doing all they can and proving to be essential in the fight against Covid-19.
